HIGH RISK LICENCES
The National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk
Work (the Licensing Standard) replaces the National Occupational
Health and Safety Certification Standard for Users and Operators of Industrial
Equipment [NOHSC:1006 (2001)].
You need a High Risk Licence if you undertake any of the following work:
• Scaffolding - basic, intermediate and advanced;
• Rigging work - dogging; basic, intermediate and advanced rigging;
• Crane and hoist operation - tower; self-erecting tower; derrick;
portal boom; bridge and gantry; vehicle loading; non slewing mobile; slewing;
materials hoist; personnel and materials hoist; boom-type elevating work
platform; vehicle mounted concrete placing boom.
• Forklift operation - forklift trucks; order-picking forklift trucks;
• Pressure equipment operation - basic, intermediate and advanced
boiler operation; turbine operation; reciprocating steam engine operation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please be advised that NT WorkSafe will only issue a
High
Risk
Work
Licence to persons who meet the following criteria;
• The person successfully completes an approved VET course
(for
the class of licence being sought) with a Registered Training Organisation
• The person MUST be a resident of the Northern Territory, or
• The person MUST provide a letter from their employer that they are a Fly In / Fly Out worker on a Mine Site in the Northern Territory
Failure to meet these criteria will result in the person NOT being issued
with a High Risk Work Licence in the Northern Territory.
