Pre requisites:
In line with current Occupational Safety and Health Regulations and Australian
Standards, we request that the person attending:
- Be 18 years of age or above
- Have the necessary levels of health and fitness to operate equipment
safely
- In Australia, be able to speak English and read English to a level
to operate equipment safely
Legislative Requirements:
Most training delivered by Australian Skills Training requires that persons
being assessed have a good understanding of current Occupational Safety
and Health Legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. The
training delivered in this matter is derived from:
- Occupational Health and Safety Act 1984
- Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 1996
- National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work
- Mine Safety and Inspection Act 1994
- Mine Safety and Inspection Regulations 1995
- All of the above as amended
Please note:
Tertiary Courses GST - Free under section 38 - 85 of the GST
Act.
Any person who does not achieve competency may attend any future instruction
at a nominal cost.
Where applicable WorkSafe Fee payable - AUD$81 per person in WA, AUD$76
per person in NT, AUD$51 per person in ACT.
In WA, a licence fee of $AUD81 applies to each High Risk Licence Class, unless the following consecutive courses are run: Scaffold - SB, SI, SA; Rigging - RB, RI, RA; Dogging / Rigging - DG / RB A WorkSafe Licence fee applies to the Restricted Asbestos Removal Licence. IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please be advised that NT WorkSafe will only issue a
High
Risk
Work
Licence to persons who meet the following criteria;
• The person successfully completes an approved VET course
(for
the class of licence being sought) with a Registered Training Organisation
• The person MUST be a resident of the Northern Territory, or
• The person MUST provide a letter from their employer that they are a Fly In / Fly Out worker on a Mine Site in the Northern Territory
Failure to meet these criteria will result in the person NOT being issued
with a High Risk Work Licence in the Northern Territory.
